Nuusafee Kayak Day

Nuusafee Kayak Day

Kayak to a remote island with its own lagoon

Moderate On demand 190 NZD

Kayak to remote Nuusafee Island and explore the lagoon

Take a fully guided kayak trip to pristine Nuusafee Island. Relax on the white sand beach, swim in the island's lagoon and snorkel along the coral reef.

Our kayak adventure begins at Vaiula Beach fales in Tafatafa.  After a safety briefing the trip continues within the lagoon before a short stretch of open water to the island’s own lagoon.

Turtles can often be seen in the water surrounding the island and the reef passage beside the island provides fascinating snorkelling. Or, if you want, just relax on the private white sand beaches, cooling off in the beckoning water.

Depending on the tides there is usually a chance to explore a small area of mangroves by kayak on the return to Tafatafa.

For groups of experienced kayakers, it is possible to take an afternoon ocean paddle to Aganoa, with its spectacular black sand beaches, before finishing the day at Sinalei Resort.  This section is only suitable for kayakers competent in open ocean swells and needs to be organised in advance.

 Experience Level

Participants should be confident in the water. The afternoon paddle back to Tafatafa is often into a sea breeze and participants should be reasonably fit.

We had a great day with Tino, saw some amazing turtles swimming free and unrestricted. Had our own fun challenges getting up the creek on an outgoing tide had the stunning beauty and pleasure all to ourselves such luxury. Our meal was yum and relaxed all in all a great day. And then I got to mountain biking on Mt Fish with Tua which was great fun. Just keep an eye out for those hidden coconuts in the long grass. This is a great way to outback Samoa.
