Easy Trips to Organise
Manono Island is an easy half day's paddle from our base and can be reached entirely within the lagoon. There are several places to stay on the island and plenty to explore.
The lagoon where we are based stretches almost 40 kms providing plenty to space to explore. Paddling beside the villages or heading out to explore the outer reef.
More experienced and confident kayakers can travel outside the reef, where we often see very large turtles.
For easy trips within the reef, at least one person in the group should be familiar with spray deck kayaks and everyone must be able to swim and be reasonably confident in an outdoor setting.
If in doubt talk to us. We can sometimes arrange an initial half day or day guiding to ensure everyone is suitably prepared before you head off on your own.
Talk to us about what you want to do as we are keen to see more explored. There is a lot of really challenging and exciting stuff to do in a kayak, but much of it involves open ocean kayaking. A knowledge of local sea conditions and location of reef passages is needed and we can often help. You will need to be competent for the conditions.
We are still discovering good fishing areas and techniques - but you are welcome to bring your own fishing gear. We have seen Giant Trevali, barracuda and skipjack tuna caught in the area and have seen huge wahoo when snorkelling.
